Bringing Your Lost Pets Home

My Pet Is Missing!
What's Next?

Put food, water, your dog’s bedding, and familiar scent items where they went missing or on your porch/yard, ideally with a camera on it. Often, dogs will circle back to where they went missing if not chased or spooked away. Then, follow these steps:

Report it

Call your local non-emergency police and animal control.

If your dog was recently adopted, contact the rescue too. Act quickly to get the word out.

Create a flyer

Flyers get sightings.

Sightings bring dogs home. Include a phone number and post flyers within a 1-mile radius.

Never send money to someone claiming to have your dog.

No luck?

Contact an experienced local drone operator or trapper. Legitimate operators won’t guarantee they’ll find your dog or demand payment upfront. Watch for scams.

Hi, I'm Kat.

I'm a passionate animal advocate and a certified Drone Pilot specializing in thermal imaging. I founded Dog Gone Pet Recovery with one goal: to reunite lost pets with their families.  I combine advanced aerial imaging with a deep understanding of animal behavior to track and locate missing pets—giving owners the answers they desperately need. Featured on NBC, Fox, and Telemundo, my work has already helped countless families find hope when all seemed lost.
